Fantastic Singer Machine!

I was very grateful for someone donating a non-working Singer 401a machine for me to train on.  They were manufactured from around 1956 to 1960.

The handwheel was frozen, the selector knobs would not turn, and it was grimy dirty.  I disassembled it, removed and cleaned the parts, reassembled and lubricated the moving parts and greased the gears.

It now hums along like a fine stopwatch!  I learned so much while restoring this great machine.  Discovered that even after 70 years it is still a desirable sewing machine!
